About a Crazy Dog is a deeply melancholic piano piece shaped by repetition, stillness, and emotional exhaustion. The music unfolds slowly, circling around the same gestures as if trapped in place, allowing time to accumulate weight rather than movement.
The piece reflects a life reduced to waiting: constant vigilance, isolation, and the gradual erosion of awareness. Its restrained language avoids dramatic release, instead embracing monotony and subtle tension as expressive tools. What emerges is not a story told through events, but a psychological space marked by confinement, routine, and inevitable decay.
This composition later appeared in an alternative version for string quartet, released as part of the album Tied Strings. While the musical material remains the same, the expansion into multiple voices transforms the solitude of the piano into a collective lament, amplifying the sense of endurance and unresolved grief.
