Jellyfish Waltz – Single (2026)

Spread the love

Jellyfish Waltz is a contemporary instrumental composition from the album Faces & Places, inspired by the graceful movement of jellyfish drifting beneath the sea. Written for string quintet, the piece transforms their slow, weightless dance into music, exploring the delicate balance between motion, stillness, and quiet beauty.

Rather than depicting the underwater world literally, Jellyfish Waltz evokes its atmosphere through flowing melodies, evolving textures, and subtle harmonic changes. The music unfolds with an unhurried pace, allowing each phrase to emerge naturally before dissolving into the next, much like the gentle currents that carry marine life.

Built around expressive melodic lines and transparent string writing, the composition creates a continuous sense of movement without urgency. Individual voices weave around one another, alternately leading and accompanying, producing a musical texture that feels fluid, organic, and constantly transforming.

The harmonic language moves beyond traditional tonal expectations while remaining lyrical and accessible. Colour, resonance, and gradual harmonic evolution shape the emotional narrative, inviting the listener into a contemplative soundscape where serenity and quiet wonder coexist.

As part of Faces & Places, Jellyfish Waltz continues the album’s exploration of memories, places, and personal impressions translated into music. Here, the inspiration comes not from a specific location, but from a fleeting natural image whose elegance becomes a metaphor for calm, freedom, and the beauty of slow movement.
